New Taipei City Public Wi-Fi Access Security Policy

Dear users, welcome to the New Taipei City WiFI Access service (this Service). To protect your rights and benefits in using this Service, please carefully read the New Taipei City Public WiFi Access Service Regulations (these Regulations) before using this Service. By accepting these regulations, users confirm that they agree to this Service and abide by these Regulations.


I.Code of Conduct

The Service reserves the right to suspend or terminate the Service under any of the following circumstances. In no event may users claim compensation in any form. Also, users are fully liable for any legal responsibility.

1. Theft, alteration and/or damage of the personal information of others.
2. Unpermitted duplication of the personal information of others for sale and/or reproduction.
3. Causing hazards to telecommunications and/or appropriating the rights and benefits of others.
4. Unpermitted distribution of electronic information to the e-mail of others, thereby causing problems for the recipients.
5. Posting information in a forum that is irrelevant to the topic.
6. Sending spam to the e-mail of others to deliberately damage their e-mail and/or communication equipment.
7. Spreading computer viruses or computer programs that can interfere with normal computer operation.
8. Publishing and/or spreading speech concerning threats, libel, argumentum ad hominem (argument against the person), invasion of other's privacy, pornography, and/or text, images and/or video violating the order public order and decency.
9. Acquisition of resources not officially open and/or authorized by their proprietors.
10. Obstruction of system operation and/or increase of system load.
11. Provision over the Internet of products and/or services violating relevant laws and regulations.
12. Using or assigning others to engage in activities specified in Section I.4.
13. Other offences of the law.

II.Security of personal information of users

1. The Service reserves the right to suspend or terminate the Service of users when they provide incorrect or untrue information.
2. Users should immediately notify the customer service personnel of the Service to help them deal with the subsequent matters.

III.Collection of personal information and privacy protection

  • By registering and authenticating their passwords, subscribers confirm that they agree (equivalent to written consent according to the Personal Information Protection Act) to allow the Service and its outsourcing service providers to collect their personal information, such as cell phone number or e-mail address, to maintain the relevant records automatically generated by the server, including the connection logs containing the IP address of their customer-premises equipment, the time of use, and the browsers used.
  • The personal information of subscribers is protected and specified in accordance with the Personal Information Protection Act.
3. The Service will not sell, exchange and/or lease any personal information of subscribers to any individual and/or entity; except under the following circumstances:
  • The Service obeys R.O.C's laws and regulations and will provide the related data of the user specified by the judicial unit if disclosure of such data is required by the legal procedures.
  • The Service will send information concerning policy publicity, and provide other services and/or benefits to subscribers according to the personal information completed by subscribers. Subscribers are free to accept or reject such specific services and/or benefits.


IV. Disclaimer and Limitations

  • The Service assumes no responsibility for any damage arising from or in connection with the suspension or termination of this Service for any changes in service provision.
  • The iTaiwan Website also assumes no responsibility for compensating the damage or loss, either consequential or collateral, as a result of radio frequency interference (such as packet loss, instantaneous break, etc.) generated by the environment and wireless transmission technology (such as microwave, cordless phone, Bluetooth device, and other WLAN signals).
  • The wireless transmission technology used by the Service does not guarantee the data transmitted by the user will not be intercepted by the third party. The user has the sole responsibility of encrypting its own data to prevent data disclosure. We shall not be liable for any indirect or direct damage or loss caused by this.
4. The Service provides wireless broadband Internet access for the public and will filter the following applications, protocols, and website pages:
  • Block the P2P applications.
  • Recognize and block spyware.
Recognize and block the on-line game programs, and limit bandwidth speed.
Recognize and block the website pages rated Restricted based on the Internet Content Rating System, and related improper websites.
Any other applications, protocols, and website pages specified by the City Government.


X. Addenda

1. The laws of the Republic of China (not including the Law Regulating the application of Law in Civil Cases involving Foreign Elements and/or other similar laws and regulations) are the applicable laws of these Regulations.
2. Subscribers agree that the Taiwan Banciao District Court should be the jurisdiction court of the first instance for lawsuits arising from or in connection with the Policy.
3. The voiding of any part of the Policy will not affect the effectiveness of other parts of the Policy.
4. Subscribers are fully liable for the criminal and civil responsibilities of any tort they have committed. The iTaiwan Website may refer any such case to the relevant authorities where necessary.



The Service reserves the right to amend the Policy at will and without further notice. Amendments will be published on the subscriber registration homepage. Subscribers are advised to terminate this Service if you decide to continue using the Service, it is considered as an agreement and acceptance of the revisions or amendments made to the Policy.
